Custom ang pow printing and the CNY 2027 production timeline
Custom ang pow printing in Malaysia starts when you approve your artwork, then takes 10 to 14 working days of production. For Chinese New Year on Saturday 6 February 2027, confirm artwork between 12 and 26 December 2026. Packets start at RM 488 for 500 pieces in one design with no finishing.
What custom ang pow printing actually involves
Printing runs on three clocks: the artwork, the proof and the press. If you know which clock you are on, you can give your boss a date without guessing.
We call this the Three Clocks. The artwork clock is yours and runs until you approve. We send you the proof, you answer it, and that makes the proof clock shared. The press clock belongs to us and only starts after approval.
The packet uses the same stock for every design. It closes at 170mm high by 82mm wide, on 157gsm art paper with a soft-touch finish that costs nothing extra. Full colour goes on the front. Your logo, company name, website, social handles, QR code and contact details can go on the back panel at no charge, along with a personalised greeting. We explain the paper choice in why we print money packets on 157gsm art paper with a soft-touch finish.
Clock one: the artwork
The press clock cannot start until this one stops.
We prefer AI or SVG vector files. A JPG or PNG logo still works, and it can be traced to vector for a small additional fee. If your logo sits in a brand folder with the design agency that made it, ask for the vector file before you place the order.
Decide two things before you open the artwork. First, how many designs. One design can be packed 5, 8 or 10 to a pack. Two designs pack 8 or 10 to a pack. Four designs pack 8 only, and five designs pack 10 only. Second, who gets which packet. If you want one design for clients and another for staff, that is a two-design order.
Clock two: the proof
We send a free online proof, typically within about 1 working day of getting your artwork. Three rounds of revisions are included, which is usually enough to settle the greeting and the logo position.
The proof checks placement. It does not check colour accuracy, so a screen is no promise of the printed shade. Printed colour can differ from the digital proof by up to 5%. If your logo needs an exact match, Pantone printing is available at extra cost. Ask for Pantone before you approve.
Approval starts the press clock. Production starts only when you approve the proof, so a late reply moves the delivery date.
Clock three: the press and the CNY 2027 timeline
Production is 10 to 14 working days from artwork approval. Production counts working days, so public holidays inside the window add to it. Free delivery applies to West Malaysia. Delivery to East Malaysia is a paid add-on, which checkout adds automatically once you enter a Sabah, Sarawak or Labuan address, and it shows before you pay.
- Chinese New Year 2027: Saturday 6 February 2027, with the second day on Sunday 7 February.
- Artwork confirmed: between 12 and 26 December 2026. This is the 6 to 8 weeks before the festival that we advise for every festive order.
- Busiest period: the 4 weeks immediately before the festival are the busiest of the year for us.
- Rush orders: available on request, with no set rush fee. Contact us first so we can say whether your date is possible.
We do not guarantee delivery dates in peak season. An order confirmed inside the December window leaves room for the proof, any revisions and the full production time. A January order needs a call with us before you set a date. The wider calendar is laid out in Chinese New Year 2027 corporate gifts in Malaysia: your order timeline.
What each finish does to the price
Finishes change the cost, so decide on them early. This table covers single-design orders in the two smallest tiers.
| Option | 500 pieces | 1,000 pieces |
|---|---|---|
| Normal, no finishing | RM 488 | RM 688 |
| Spot UV | RM 688 | RM 1,038 |
| Gold or silver stamping | RM 728 | RM 1,068 |
| Premium Box (add-on) | Not offered | +RM 495 |
Spot UV is a glossy raised coating on selected parts of the artwork, and it costs less than hot stamping. Gold or silver stamping is metallic foil, the most luxurious finish we offer. The Premium Box is a 250gsm card box with gold or silver stamping. For Chinese New Year it comes in red, gold or cream at the same price. If foil is on your list, read hot stamping on money packets: how gold foil works, what it costs and which artwork suits it before you brief the designer.
Who orders custom ang pow, and how many
Our smaller buyers are SME owners ordering 500 to 5,000 pieces, often for red packet printing in Malaysia that carries their own logo and greeting. Corporate teams order 5,000 to 100,000. The minimum for a customised red packet in Malaysia is 500 pieces, and we explain the reasoning in why our MOQ is 500 pieces and what that gets you.
Two designs start at RM 976 for 500 pieces of each, with no finishing. Prices for four and five designs start at a higher quantity, 2,000 and 2,500 pieces respectively. Above 5,000 pieces in a single or two-design order, email gifthxs@cubeevo.com for a quote.
Payment is by online banking (FPX) only, and orders need 100% payment to start production. Corporate accounts can arrange 70% upfront and 30% on delivery, but you need to email in advance. If that is how your finance team works, raise it with us in November.

Malaysian public holidays are announced by the Prime Minister's Department (see jpm.gov.my). Chinese New Year follows the lunar calendar, which is why the date moves each year, as covered in the Chinese New Year entry.
