Corporate Table Calendars
Calendar manufacturer or calendar printer, and which one you need
Published 21 October 2026 · By GiftAI
A calendar manufacturer in Malaysia makes the physical item: the board, the binding, the die-cut shape. A calendar printer puts your artwork onto stock. If you are ordering 300 to 2,000 corporate calendars and have no in-house artwork team, look for a supplier who handles artwork, proof, production and delivery and puts the lead time in writing.
Gifthxs prints personalised table calendars for companies, so we have a stake in this, and we have tried to describe the other routes fairly, including the ones where you should not call us.
What "manufacturer" and "printer" mean when you search
People type "calendar manufacturer Malaysia" when they want a finished calendar with their logo on it. The word is used loosely, so the first job is to sort out what you are asking for.
There are three kinds of supplier, and the same company can be one, two or all three:
- Manufacturer: makes the object, such as the die-cut stand, the screw or Wire-O binding, and the board that holds the pages upright for twelve months.
- Printer: applies ink to paper or card, and may stop there.
- Studio or supplier: takes your brief, sets up the artwork, sends a proof, arranges production and gets the boxes to your door.
Judge a supplier by its written answers to the questions below, not by what it calls itself. Our guide to how to pick a calendar supplier without missing your December deadline covers the buying side in more detail.
The Make, Print, Hand-Over check
We sort suppliers with three questions.
Make. Who builds the physical calendar? A flat wall sheet and a freestanding die-cut table calendar are different jobs. The second involves stand construction, binding and cutting, so ask who does each of those.
Print. Who handles your artwork, and is a proof included? Ask how many revision rounds you get and what the proof does and does not check. At Gifthxs, three design revision rounds are included, the free online proof usually reaches you within about one working day, and it checks placement, not colour accuracy. If exact colour matters, Pantone printing is available for an extra cost. We say all of this up front because a buyer who assumes the proof is a colour proof will be unhappy when the carton arrives.
Hand over. Who packs, delivers and answers the phone when a carton arrives damaged? Get the delivery and claims answers in writing too. At Gifthxs, damage or defects must be reported within 7 days of receipt with photos and your order number.
If one party covers all three, you have one name to chase.
Calendar manufacturer in Malaysia, printer or studio: how the routes compare
The table below sets the routes side by side. We have only filled in figures we can stand behind. For the other routes, minimums and proofing vary by supplier, so get them in writing.
| Route | Best for | Typical minimum | Who handles the proof | Honest drawback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Calendar manufacturers (factory-style) | Very large runs, unusual shapes, your own structural design | Varies, ask in writing | Usually you | You supply print-ready artwork and manage proofing yourself |
| Commercial printer | Flat items such as wall sheets, posters, simple desk pads | Varies, ask in writing | Varies, ask in writing | Check who does the die-cutting and binding on a table calendar |
| Print studio (Gifthxs) | 300 to 2,000 calendars with logo setup, a proof and delivery handled for you | 300 sets per design | Studio: free online proof and a mockup for approval | Fixed designs, so not for a fully bespoke structure |
| Reseller or trading company | Buying many different corporate items in one place | Varies, ask in writing | Varies, ask in writing | You may not know who makes the calendar |
Do not book a factory-style route if you have no artwork team, or a studio route if you need a shape nobody stocks.
Questions to ask a calendar supplier in Malaysia before you pay
Send these to every calendar supplier on your shortlist and compare the written answers.
- What is the minimum order, and is it per design or for the whole order?
- Is the unit price inclusive of delivery, and to which region?
- How many working days does production take, counted from artwork approval and not from payment?
- What does the proof check, and what does it not check?
- Who is responsible if cartons arrive damaged, and how soon must you report it?
- What happens for East Malaysia delivery and for very large quantities?
"Two to three weeks" and a written count of working days after approval are not the same promise, and public holidays fall inside the window. The 2027 holiday dates are listed on publicholidays.info, and Chinese New Year on Saturday 6 February 2027 matters for anything you want on desks before then.

What buying table calendars from a studio looks like
Our calendar printing Malaysia range has four table calendar designs: Captured in Time, Malaysian Festive Wheel, Journey Across Spaces and Seasons In Bloom. The minimum is 300 sets per design.
At 300 sets, Captured in Time and Malaysian Festive Wheel are RM 11.70 per set. Journey Across Spaces and Seasons In Bloom are RM 16.90 per set. Those prices include delivery to West Malaysia. At the other end, 2,000 sets of Captured in Time or Malaysian Festive Wheel come to RM 4.10 per set. Order 300 calendars, get 50 extra free, 350 in total. The extra units scale with quantity: 50 free at 500 sets, 100 at 1,000 and 200 at 2,000.
The designs are built differently, which matters if you care about the make. Captured in Time and Malaysian Festive Wheel are turning wheel calendars on 350gsm art card with screw binding and a die-cut shape. Journey Across Spaces is A5 landscape (21cm x 14.8cm) on 250gsm matte art card with Wire-O binding. Seasons In Bloom uses 250gsm ivory card on a double-layered 350gsm ivory stand.
Logo placement depends on the design. On the two wheel calendars the logo goes on the front cover only, because there are no monthly pages. On Journey Across Spaces and Seasons In Bloom it goes on every monthly page, and you can set company dates into the grid, such as public holidays or a campaign launch. A mockup is sent for approval before printing. Our post on logo placement on a corporate calendar that people do not hate shows what works and what gets ignored.
Two routes go through a custom order rather than checkout: any delivery to East Malaysia, and any order above 2,000 sets. East Malaysia orders are quoted by location and quantity because calendars ship as bulky parcels. Orders above 2,000 sets are quoted separately.
Timing: working back from December
Table calendars take 21 working days after logo approval. That is longer than our money packets, which take 10 to 14, so do not borrow a packet timeline for a calendar order. For December delivery, order by November 2026. We do not call any date guaranteed in peak season, and a supplier that does should show you the contract wording.
The four weeks immediately before Chinese New Year and Hari Raya are our busiest of the year. What delays a client calendar order is usually a late logo file or a mockup left unapproved, because the 21 working days start only at logo approval.
If your calendars are not ordered yet, the work that remains is artwork, approval and the proof. Our note on why October is when 2027 calendar planning starts sets out what to settle first.
When you should not use a studio
If you need a calendar with a structure nobody sells, such as an unusual stand, a built-in pen holder or a pop-up, go to a calendar manufacturer in Malaysia and bring your own drawings. A team of 50 is below our 300-set minimum, so a local digital printer will serve it better. We only make table calendars, so if you want a flat wall calendar, look elsewhere.
Frequently asked questions
Is a calendar manufacturer different from a calendar printer in Malaysia?
Yes. A manufacturer makes the physical item, including the board, binding and die-cut stand. A printer applies your artwork to paper or card. Many suppliers do both, so ask who handles each step.
What is the minimum order for custom table calendars at Gifthxs?
The minimum is 300 sets per design. Designs cannot be mixed within that minimum, so each design needs its own order of at least 300.
How long does custom calendar production take?
Our table calendars take 21 working days after logo approval. For December delivery, order by November 2026. Public holidays fall inside that window, so count working days.
Does the proof check colour?
No. The free online proof checks placement, not colour accuracy. Pantone printing is available for an extra cost if exact colour matching matters.
Can I order calendars for delivery to Sabah or Sarawak?
Yes, through a custom order. East Malaysia delivery for calendars is quoted by location and quantity rather than added at checkout.
Can I put my company dates on the calendar?
On Journey Across Spaces and Seasons In Bloom, yes. Those two designs have monthly pages, so public holidays or a campaign launch can be set into the grid. The wheel calendars have no monthly pages, so the logo goes on the front cover only.
