Hari Raya Corporate Gift Ideas for Malaysian Companies
Published 17 September 2026 · By Gifthxs Team

Hari Raya gifting has a rhythm that Chinese New Year does not. Ramadan comes first, offices run at a different pace for a month, and the gifts themselves change hands across a longer window — some before the holiday, some during open house, some at the first meeting after. That changes what to give and when to order it.
The one deadline that matters
Everything hinges on when the packets need to be in someone's hand, and the honest answer for most companies is *before* Raya, not during. Staff want them for their own families, and clients want them before they travel back.
A workable timeline:
- Eight weeks before Raya: decide what you are giving and to whom.
- Six weeks before: artwork confirmed, proof approved. Printing runs 10–14 working days from approval.
- Two to three weeks before: stock in the office, sorted.
- Before people leave for balik kampung: handed over.
Note that the last window closes earlier than you think. Offices thin out in the days before the holiday, so a delivery that lands on the Wednesday of that week reaches half the people it was meant for.
Sampul duit raya: the practical default
Sampul duit raya is the Raya equivalent of the ang pow, and the same logic applies: it is cheap per unit, it is given face to face, and it is opened in front of other people.
What separates a good corporate sampul from a forgettable one:
- Paper you can feel. We print on 157gsm art paper with soft-touch lamination as standard. Thin stock is the single fastest way to make a gift feel like an afterthought.
- Design that respects the occasion. Geometric patterns, ketupat weaves, batik-inspired florals and crescent motifs all read correctly. What does not is a design that is festive in general but not Raya in particular.
- Your logo, quietly. It belongs on the packet, not across it.
- Up to five designs in one pack, so a family receiving several packets is not handed five identical ones.
- Finishing. Soft-touch is included; gold or silver hot stamping is the add-on most Raya designs are drawn for, because the foil picks out the geometry.
Minimum order is 500 pieces, prices start from RM 488, and production takes 10–14 working days after you approve the proof.

Hampers, and when they are the wrong answer
Hampers are the default corporate Raya gift and they are frequently the wrong one. They are expensive per recipient, they are heavy to deliver, they duplicate what every other vendor sends, and half the contents are given away again. They work in exactly one situation: a short list of relationships where the gift is expected to be substantial, and where you know enough about the recipient to choose contents they will actually use.
For everyone else, the money goes further as packets — and packets are the gift the recipient can pass on, which is the whole point at Raya.
Door gifts for open house
If your company hosts an open house, the gift is a different problem: it has to be handed out quickly, survive being carried, and not embarrass anyone who takes two.
Sampul duit raya works here too, and so does a small boxed set for the guests you want to mark out. What does not work is anything that needs a bag, needs assembly, or needs explaining at the door.
Corporate calendars, out of season
A calendar is not a Raya gift, but Raya is a reasonable time to *promise* one. Companies ordering packets in the first half of the year often add calendars to the same conversation for the following January, which removes the November scramble entirely. Calendars are printed on 350gsm art card, screw-bound and die-cut, with your dates set into the grid. See corporate table calendars.
Getting the cultural details right
A few things worth checking before artwork is approved:
- Wording. "Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri" is the full form; "Maaf Zahir dan Batin" is the customary companion. If you are unsure whether to include both, include both.
- Imagery. Ketupat, bulan sabit (crescent), lanterns (pelita), songket and batik motifs are all safe and widely understood.
- Restraint. Raya design has moved steadily towards minimal, and a quieter packet now reads as more premium than a busy one.
- Language mix. A Malay greeting with English company details is normal and reads naturally.
What to send us
Your logo as AI, SVG or EPS, your brand colours, and any wording you want printed. Vector matters: a logo pulled from a website looks soft at packet size and cannot be separated for hot stamping. We prepare a proof and send it for approval; nothing is printed until you confirm.
Budget, in plain numbers
- Reach: sampul duit raya, 500 pieces minimum, from RM 488, free delivery across West Malaysia.
- Impact: the same packets with gold or silver hot stamping.
- Short list: a boxed set, or packets paired with a calendar for the following year.
East Malaysia delivery is quoted at checkout rather than included, because the rate depends on destination and parcel size.
The short version
Order eight weeks out. Choose sampul duit raya for reach, and keep hampers for the handful of relationships that genuinely warrant them. Get the wording right, send vector artwork, approve the proof quickly, and have the packets in the office before people leave for kampung.
